Welcome!

I am an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Arizona State University, in the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences and PI of the Big Language Lab. I am also part of the Cognition, Behavior, and Information collaborative. Before joining ASU, I was a member of the Computational Vision and Learning Lab and BlankLangLab, at UCLA, and the Reading Lab at McMaster University. My interests range between corpus linguistics, quantitative linguistics, psychology, and psycholinguistics.  I use corpora – including representative academic copora, social media, and other sources, to examine how the sensorimotor and affective connotations of words affect language processing, and reflect how we mentally represent people, events, and places.

Check me out on LinkedIn, ResearchGate, Google Scholar, and Twitter.
